Bitesize Classes: 3yrs – 1st grade

Music & Movement: Thursdays 5:15- 6:00

Focus on basic dance steps and terminology, beginning stages of rhythms and musicality, and creative body movement along with coordination. Rhythm instruments and props are utilized to recite short poems, sing songs, and explore storytelling.

Beginning Classes: 2nd – 5th grade

Vocal Musical Theater 101: Tuesdays 6:05- 6:55

Focus on the fundamentals of singing, acting, and dancing with a major emphasis on vocal and performance techniques. Each class may workshop songs from modern TV musicals and classic musical theater or explore songs from Circle the State youth concert.

Acting 101: Thursdays 6:05- 6:50 *Prerequisite: attenders should know how to read

Explores a variety of techniques and explores elements such as character development, improvisation, writing a script, audition skills, and taking direction. Students will build confidence and develop the ability to speak and present in large and small groups.

Beginning Tap/Jazz Intensive: Tuesdays 5:15- 6:00

Beginning combo dance class focusing on using the dancer’s shoes to create percussive and rhythmic sounds while dancing to all types of music. Additional focus on strength, flexibility, leaps, turns, and stylization through warm ups, progressions, and combinations.

Elementary Broadway Dance: Tuesdays 6:55- 7:40

Fun combo dance class for beginners exploring 4 different types of dance technique including ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop based upon choreography from Broadway musicals. Some opportunity to experiment with dancing as different characters.

JazzFunk: Thursdays 5:15- 6:00

A funky style of dance for all ages including hip hop, jazz, and lyrical movements. From ballet-modern-hip hop- to lyrical, jazz funk incorporates little bits and pieces of other dance genres and wraps into a funky style that is both fun and expressive! This funk class works to increase fitness, strength and flexibility.

Step it up Choreo Intensive: Tuesdays 5:15- 6:00 *4th grade+

Step up your choreography knowledge! You will learn how to quickly attack new choreography sequences from a variety of different dance genres. This class will help you practice learning choreography sequences quickly. New style of dance each week.

Intermediate Tap/Jazz Intensive: Thursdays 6:55- 7:40 *Prerequisite: 1 year of prior tap class

Combo dance class digging deeper into Tap and Jazz technique. Focuses on using the dancer’s shoes to create percussive and rhythmic sounds while dancing to all types of music. Additional focus on strength, flexibility, leaps, turns, and stylization through warm ups, progressions, and combinations

Intermediate Classes: Middle School +

Vocal Musical Theater 201: Tuesdays 6:55- 7:40

Focus on the fundamentals of singing, acting, and dancing with a major emphasis on vocal and performance techniques. Each class will workshop songs from modern TV musicals and classic musical theater which may include Shrek, Spongebob, Newsies, Cats, Oklahoma, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, and a Chorus Line as well as others based on student interests!

Acting 201: Thursdays 6:55- 7:40

Explores a variety of techniques and explores elements such as character development, improvisation, writing a script, audition skills, monologues, and taking direction. Students will build confidence and develop the ability to speak and present in large and small groups. Depending on student interest, some stagecraft elements may be explored in the class including set design, lighting design to create mood, and costume design.

JazzFunk: Thursdays 5:15- 6:00

Funky style of dance for all ages including hip hop, jazz, lyrical movements. From ballet-modern-hip hop- to lyrical, jazz funk incorporates little bits and pieces of other dance genres and wraps into a funky style that is both fun and expressive! This funk class works to increase fitness, strength and flexibility.

Intermediate Broadway Dance: Tuesdays 6:05- 6:55

Combine technical dance training with character development each and every week. This class will learn choreography from countless Broadway musicals which may include Shrek, Spongebob, Newsies, Cats, Oklahoma, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, and a Chorus Line and have the opportunity to experiment with dancing as different characters in each class.

Intermediate Tap/Jazz Intensive: Thursdays 6:55- 7:40 *Prerequisite: 1 year of prior tap class

Combo dance class digging deeper into Tap and Jazz technique. Focuses on using the dancer’s shoes to create percussive and rhythmic sounds while dancing to all types of music. Additional focus on strength, flexibility, leaps, turns, and stylization through warm ups, progressions, and combinations.

Advanced Tap/Jazz Intensive: Thursdays 6:05- 6:55 *Prerequisite: 2 or more years of prior tap class

Combo dance class focusing on using the dancer’s shoes to create percussive and rhythmic sounds while dancing to all types of music. Additional focus on strength, flexibility, leaps, turns, and stylization through warm ups, progressions, and combinations.

Step it up Choreo Intensive: Tuesdays 5:15- 6:00

Step up your choreography knowledge! You will learn how to quickly attack new choreography sequences from a variety of different dance genres. This class will help you practice learning choreography sequences quickly. New style of dance each week.

Please select the classes in which you would like to enroll your student by clicking on the appropriate category and adding the desired class to your cart. You are welcome to enroll your student in as many classes in as many different categories as you wish. You must, however, only register one student at a time for the sake of our registration form.

TUITION & PAYMENT INFORMATION

In order to secure a spot in one of CMT’s Stage School classes, the first month’s tuition is due with registration. This deposit is nonrefundable and your student will not be registered until this payment is received. After this tuition will be billed monthly. Discounts will be applied to the remaining balance due by the first day of class.

The final step in the registration process will be completed when the student’s parent/guardian downloads, signs, and brings the liability waiver form to the first day of class. You can download the liability waiver form by clicking the link below.

SCHOLARSHIP & TUITION DISCOUNT INFORMATION

Children’s Musical Theatre of Bartlesville exists to enrich the lives of youth by providing quality musical theatre performance and educational opportunities. In an effort to make our programs available to as many members of the community as possible, CMT offers several  scholarships each term to students in need. To see if your student is eligible for a tuition discount please read below. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please download and complete the scholarship application form. Once completed, you can email your scholarship application form to CMT’s Executive Director, Kristie Hewitt (kristie@cmtonstage.com), or drop it by the CMT offices at 101 S Wyandotte Ave. Bartlesville, OK 74003. The deadline to submit a scholarship application for the Fall 2020 Stage School session is August 10th, 2020. Classes begin the week of August 18, 2020 and run through November 19, 2020.
