About CMT's Summer Camps

Each summer, CMT offers a variety of camps that are designed to challenge students to hone their storytelling, acting, singing, and dancing skills in a fun yet focused environment. Taught by local professional and CMT alums, CMT’S summer camps offer high-quality instruction, creative exercises, and additional performance opportunities for our students.

 

2018 SUMMER CAMPS

Morning Drama Camps for (ages 7-10) teach acting skills to beginners. This class culminates in a short play performance of an original script created by the students based on the week’s theme. Emphasis is on stage direction, elements of story, stage presence, and movement. Students build confidence and develop the ability to speak and present in large and small groups.

Time: 9:00 am- 12:00 M-F, Tuition: $60/per week

June 25-29, 2018: Junie B. Jones Capers -- deadline to register June 15
July 16-20, 2018: Seuss Stories -- deadline to register June 29
Aug. 6-10, 2018: Annie & Friends -- deadline to register June 29--openings still available

Afternoon Drama Camps (for ages 7-12) further develop students acting skills by focusing on characterization and blocking. This class culminates in a short play performance of an original script created by the students based on the week’s theme. Emphasis is on stage direction, elements of story, stage presence, and movement. Students build confidence and develop the ability to speak and present in large and small groups. In addition, students in the afternoon camps will help create the scenery and props used in their production.

Time: 1:00-5:00 pm M-F, Tuition: $80/week

June 18-22, 2018: Return of the Incredibles -- deadline to register June 15
June 25-29, 2018: Star Wars: The Final Chapter -- deadline to register June 15
July 16-20, 2018: Under the Sea Adventures -- deadline to register June 29
Aug. 6-10, 2018: World of Harry Potter -- deadline to register June 29--FULL

Note: To attend both the morning and afternoon camps in the same week and to stay for lunch in between, tuition: $135

Two Week Production Camp: In this camp, students (ages 7-12) experience all aspects of performing in a musical production including auditioning, singing, dancing, and acting. Students receive instruction in choral singing, choreography, characterization, and blocking. The camp culminates in two performances of the musical in the CMT Black Box Theatre. The 2018 Two Week Production Camp is Disney’s Cinderella KIDS.

Time: 9:00-3:00 M-F for two weeks, Tuition: $195

Dates: June 4-8 & June 11-15, 2018   Title: Disney’s Cinderella KIDS--deadline to register May 30

Two Week Master Class Broadway Camp: In this camp, students (ages 10-17) sharpen their triple threat skills in acting, singing, and dancing as they take master classes from area professionals in order to prepare a cabaret performance of favorite Broadway numbers.

Time: 9:00-3:00 M-F for two weeks, Tuition: $195

Dates: July 23-27, 2018 & July 30-Aug. 3, 2018   Title: Best of Broadway Camp -- deadline to register June 30
