Purpose: To prepare advanced auditioners for Oklahoma auditions with intense instruction in tap, ballet, square dancing and vocal masters classes.
Students enrolling in this workshop will:
● Receive instruction focused on ballet and tap steps and sequences and become familiar with some of the original Agnes DeMille choreography in the original Broadway show. Some of these sequences may be utilized in the dance callback auditions for our show.
● Receive valuable feedback and critiques about your first round audition song choice and your vocals
● Receive an piano accompaniment cd recorded for your additional practice at home (if you can provide sheet music for your song)
Prerequisite: Participation in a prior CMT Beginning Audition Workshop preferred but not required
Who: Older students OR those who have participated in at least 1 mainstage show or school year show
When: 3:00- 7:00 Sunday, February 17 & March 3 and 3:00-5:00 on Sunday, February 24th
In addition to dance shoes, please bring sheet music or accompaniment track of your desired audition song, a sack dinner and a water bottle
On Sunday, February 24** Please bring jazz shoes & tap shoes if you have them and a Water bottle.
**Optional: After the final dance session, you can choose to bring your dinner and stay to practice and become more familiar with the audition sides in small groups or with a partner until 6:30. If you are choosing to stay, please bring your dinner and printed audition sides to practice with.
